To whom it may concern:

I am pleased to be writing on behalf of Breanna Mitchell. I have known Bre since October 2009, when she began an apprenticeship with the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Division at the City of Woodstock.

Bre has a unique ability to work quickly, independently, and with accuracy, and her intelligance and enthusiasam for learning were immediately evident upon her hire. When she began working for the cuty, she had no experience with GIS, but she expressed an eagerness to learn. She quickly mastered the basics and moved on to more advanced techniques and concepts, surpassing in her level of skill and understanding even our college student interns, who were earning degrees in GIS. She also frequently impressed her co-workers and members of upper management with the amount of high-quality work she produced in a short amount of time. Two department directors were so pleased with results of her most recent project that it was presented to the city council during the September 26, 2011, meeting. Bre was also recognized during the city council meeting on March 15, 2010, for her excellent work.

Perhaps two of Bre's most valuable characteristics as an employee are her sense of commitment and consideration of others. She regards arriving to work on time and completing her assignments quickly and accurately as her responsibilty as an employee. Unlike other employees I have supervised, I never worried about Bre slacking off and never doubted her when she called out sick. Before asking for time off, she always considered how her absence would affect her co-workers and the ability of the department to complete projects on time. She regularly volunteered to work extra hours to help meet project deadlines and would frequently approach me and ask, "What can I do to help you?"

Not only is Bre an intelligent and diligent worker, but she is also kind, humble, and trustworthy, with a calm and friendly demeanor. I regard it as my priviledge to have worked with Bre, and I highly recommend her for any job she applies for.

Sincerly,

Emily Norton

GIS Manager
